Instructions for Saltsild 2
To prepare the Saltsild 2 recipe, please follow these instructions:
The herring should not be cleansed, but you can rub them cleanly for dandruff. Salt and sugar are mixed together and a thin layer is added to the bottom of the jar or bucket to be salted. Then add a layer of herring alternately with a layer of salt and the last salt comes to the top. There should then be a slight pressure on the herrings so that they are completely covered by the make-up that comes after a day's time. If there is not enough drawing, add a suitable brine so that the herring is covered. They should be finished salted after approx. 1 month at a temperature between 0 - 9 degrees.
