Ingredients for Baked beans

Bouquet garni of a few sprigs thyme 3 bay leaves and a small tuft of parsley to the cooking of beans
A splash of rum
1cannedChopped tomatoes
1/2bottleMaple syrup or a couple of tablespoons. cane sugar
2Medium onions, coarsely chopped
2tspMustard flour
300gBacon in cubes, preferably with rind
500gDried beans

Instructions for Baked beans

To prepare the Baked beans recipe, please follow these instructions:

The beans are soaked 12-24 hours and boiled 45-60 minutes with the bouquet garnish.

The chopped tomatoes come with a pan, together with onion and mustard flour. Add salt and pepper to taste (remember that bacon is salty) and cook at low heat for 5 minutes. Roast beans and bacon together in an ovenproof dish and pour tomato sauce over. Put the dish, with lid on, in a cold oven, and behind 160 degrees for 4 hours. Add the space, and then on for 1 hour.

Served with Coleslaw. Beer fits well.
