Instructions for Basler Leckerli

To prepare the Basler Leckerli recipe, please follow these instructions:

1. Heat, dough and butter are heated in a pan by medium heat. The mixture must melt to a uniformly thick liquid but must not boil.

2. Mix flour, baking soda and spices into a bowl.

3. Almonds and nuts chopped nicely in a blender. Orange peel and papaya are too sticky to get in the blender and are chopped with a knife. Both nuts and fruit are then added to the flour mixture.

4. Add the dry mix to cherry and juice, and then the liquid sugar / butter mixture. Pour the dough well until the flour is completely stirred.

5. A frying pan or a dish approx. 20 x 30 cm lubricate with butter and a thin layer of flour is spread over the entire lubricated surface. The dough is evenly distributed throughout the pan with the back of a spoon. To prevent the dough stick to the spoon, the spoon can be dipped in water to reduce friction.

6. Cook the cake in a preheated oven at about 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

7. When the cake is cooled, pour the cake with a thin spoon of 2 tablespoons. Flour and 1 tbsp. Either water or kirsch. When the icing is solidified, the cake can be cut into pieces of approx. 3.5 x 3.5 cm.

tips:
* Kirsch / kirschwasser is a cherry brand that can be a challenge to find in Denmark. It may be possible. Replace with another sweet liquor, for example Bourbon.
