Ingredients for Dhal soup

Fresh coriander leaves
optionalA little cayenne pepper
0.5tspAsafoetida (hing or ferula assafoetida)
1tspTurmeric
1Chopped red chili (like m. cores)
1tbspCumin seeds
1.5lWater
1-2tspSalt
2.5dlYellow mung (moong-dal)
2-3tspGrated fresh ginger
3tbspButter (like ghee) or oil

Instructions for Dhal soup

To prepare the Dhal soup recipe, please follow these instructions:

Wash mungbønnerne well and let them drain in a sieve.

Com mung, water, turmeric, ginger and chillies in a pan and let it cook up.
This should simmer for about 1 hour until the beans are well tender.

Butter (ghee or oil) heated in a small pan, and spidskommen the seeds are fried till they become Brown and fragrant.
Then add Asafoetida (hing) and this is a hive for a moment.
This aromatic mixture, add the broth, then season with salt and cayenne pepper or extra chili.

The soup should pull-småsimre about 5 minutes after this, for the spices have evolved completely.

Serves well hot with coriander leaves on top.

Tips:
There can also be used green mung. Asafoetida is available in vela sorted Indian businesses. It does not smell pretty good, but in small quantities, it gives just this very special Indian flavour to the soup. As possibly the main dish to be served plenty of good bread. Velbekommen!
